CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Several city offices and facilities will adjust schedules for Presidents’ Day on Monday, Feb. 17.
City offices and council meetings
Cheyenne city offices will close for the holiday. The City Council’s Public Services Committee will meet Tuesday, Feb. 18 at noon, while the Finance Committee will convene Wednesday, Feb. 19 at noon.
Trash and recycling schedule shifts
This will be the first holiday under the Sanitation Division’s new sliding schedule.
All residential trash and recycling pickups will shift one day later for the week of Feb. 17–21. Monday pickups will move to Tuesday, Tuesday to Wednesday, and so on through Friday.
The Solid Waste Transfer Station and Happy Jack Landfill will be closed on Feb. 17 and reopen Tuesday, Feb. 18. The Compost Facility and Household Hazardous Waste site will close both Monday and Tuesday, reopening Wednesday, Feb. 19.
Residents should keep recycling unbagged, break down boxes to 2 feet by 2 feet and bag all trash to prevent litter.
Public transportation and recreational facilities
The Cheyenne Transit Program will not operate on Presidents’ Day, with all offices and bus services closed.
The Cheyenne Botanic Gardens Grand Conservatory and Paul Smith Children’s Village will also be closed as part of their regular schedule.
The Cheyenne Aquatic Center will remain open, and patrons can check the center’s website for details.
Recreation centers and golf courses
The BEAST Recreation Center will close on Feb. 17. However, the Cheyenne Ice and Events Center will stay open, offering public skating and other activities.
The Airport Golf Course and Kingham Prairie View Golf Course will be open, with schedule details available online.
