CHEYENNE, Wyo. — A request from the Laramie County Clerk’s Office to establish an early voting and counting station has been approved.

The Laramie County Board of Commissioners passed a resolution at its regular biweekly meeting Tuesday to designate a polling station for early voters throughout all county precincts and districts. The polling place and counting center will be set in the atrium of the Laramie County Governmental Complex, 310 W. 19th Street in Cheyenne. The atrium is located next to the building’s café on the first floor between the old and new courthouse.

The station will contain an electronic voting machine and be open throughout the duration of the early voting period, which is a popular method of voting in Laramie County, according to County Clerk Debra Lee. The early voting period for the upcoming primary election is July 23 to Aug. 19, Lee said. Later in the year, early voters have from Oct. 8 to Nov. 4 to cast their ballot for the general election.

This year, the candidate filing period for county positions is May 16–31 for the primary election and Aug. 7–26 for the general election.

Residents can request an early voting ballot by calling the clerk’s office at 307-633-4242 or emailing election@LaramieCountyWy.gov.
