CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Commissioners have approved a slew of grant awards and modifications, among which are agreements for services at their new building on Carey Avenue.
At its regular Tuesday meeting, the Laramie County Board of Commissioners accepted grant awards with the Wyoming Office of Homeland Security. The grant awards come from the FY24 State Homeland Security Program. The county has accepted the following services and products through the program:
- Door sleeves and ramparts for $8,000
- Gurneys and covers for the coroner’s office for $12,385
- Communication equipment for $19,859
- Portable radios for the sheriff’s office for $39,718
- Two throwbots and SWAT shields for the sheriff’s office for $54,000
The county also approved a contract to install a new X-ray body scanner at the county sheriff’s office. The agreement is with Secure Technology Value Solutions Inc. The county will pay the company $191,000 for the body scanner.
Aside from grant awards, the county ratified several agreements with contractors for repair and installation services at a Carey Avenue building. The county officially acquired the facility in August.
The building at 2020 Carey Ave. will receive the following services:
- Irrigation inspection and blowout services from TFM22 LLC for $50 an hour, not expected to exceed $1,000.
- Fall cleanup services from TFM22 LLC for $3,400.
- Water damage repairs from Western Drywall Inc. for $9,790.
- Roofing system replacement from Capitol Roofing Inc. for $6,500.
- A second roofing system replacement from Capitol Roofing Inc. for $6,800.
- Carpet installation from Carpet One Commercial Flooring Inc. for $18,960.
Contracts and subaward agreements
The county approved a handful of other agreements with companies and local organizations at its Tuesday meeting. The following is a list of those agenda items that passed:
- A memorandum of understanding that replaces the MOU approved Oct. 15 with the Laramie County Community Juvenile Services Joint Powers Board in the amount of $165,000.
- An assignment of services agreement that transfers services from EBenefits Solutions LLC to Businessolver.com. Businessolver will assume the agreement and continue to provide all of the services set forth in the agreement of services.
- A resolution authorizing submission of a grant application to the Department of Justice for a FFY24 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant to be shared between the Cheyenne Police Department and the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office in the amount of $61,863. The city will receive $46,857 and the county will get $15,006.
- A sub-award agreement with the Wyoming Department of Transportation for a FFY25 Highway Safety Program Occupant Protection High Visibility Enforcement Overtime grant in the amount of $13,909.09.
- A subaward agreement with the Wyoming Department of Transportation for a FFY25 Highway Safety Program Impaired Driving High Visibility Enforcement Overtime, Multi-Jurisdictional Enforcement and Video Cameras grant in the amount of $42,321.31.
- A subaward agreement with the Wyoming Department of Transportation for a FFY25 Highway Safety Program Advanced Impaired Driving Detection Training and Coordination grant in the amount of $419,060.09.
- A subgrantee agreement with the Boys and Girls Club of Cheyenne for a Wyoming Department of Family Services TANF grant in the amount of $60,329.77.
- Four separate agreements with Corey Dwyer, Erik Elizondo, Caleb Pushcar and Alexander Stimson to provide advanced impaired driving detection training throughout the State of Wyoming under the DRE grant.
- An addendum to billing terms, service terms and conditions with TimeClock Plus LLC in the amount of $3,661.71 to provide an online scheduling option for Combined Communications.
