Cheyenne Regional Airport (Lisa Hushbeck/Cap City News)

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The county has agreed to be responsible for possibly spending $400,000 as part of a Minimum Revenue Guarantee agreement.

County commissioners approved an MRG contract with the Cheyenne Regional Air Service Focus Team at their regular Tuesday meeting. The agreement will ensure that SkyWest Airlines continues to provide flight services between Cheyenne Regional Airport and Denver International Airport.

The county acknowledges in the agreement that it’s responsible for paying at least 20% of a $2 million contract, or $400,000, billed by SkyWest. Wendy Volk, president of Cheyenne Regional Air Focus Team, said at Tuesday’s meeting that the City of Cheyenne is similarly obligated to $400,000 of the MRG. The State of Wyoming is responsible for the remaining $1.2 million, according to County Attorney Mark Voss.

The MRG agreement can be viewed below.
