New members fill up seats on Laramie County Planning Commission, recreation board

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Vacancies for two county boards have now been claimed.

Laramie County commissioners approved three applications for board appointments at their regular Tuesday meeting, filling up all vacancies on the Planning Commission and recreation board. The new members are as follows:

  • John Thompson’s application to the Laramie County Recreation Planning and Advisory Board was approved. She will serve a five-year term that expires Dec. 31, 2029.
  • Wyatt Jackson was appointed to the Laramie County Recreation, Planning & Advisory Board. He will serve a five-year term that expires Dec. 31, 2029.
  • Johnny Tafoya was appointed to the Laramie County Planning Commission. He is taking over an ongoing term that will end June 30, 2025.

With these positions now filled, only two other county boards have seat vacancies. One three-year position is available on the Laramie County Community Juvenile Service Joint Powers Board. The Weed and Pest Control Board has three spots open, all of which last four years.
