CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — The Laramie County Commissioners on Tuesday postponed consideration of a legal services agreement with the Law Office of Shelly Kay Flot, PC, to provide representation to indigent parents.
The delay came after commissioners questioned County Attorney Mark Voss about the necessity and his communication with district court judges regarding the matter.
Voss said he wanted to consult with judges about the current number of attorneys handling such cases before proceeding with the agreement. He also mentioned a past meeting with a judge who expressed concerns about being involved in the contracting process.
The agreement proposes an hourly rate of $100, in accordance with state statutes. Consideration of the agreement is expected at the next meeting in two weeks.
