CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Laramie County School District 1 has announced that it will begin Tuesday, Jan. 16 on a two-hour delay due to continued inclement weather and unsafe road conditions.
Students and staff are being asked to arrive two hours after their normal start time, and bus routes are currently set to run two hours behind normal scheduling. Additionally, the school district’s breakfast service is canceled for the day and only lunches will be served at school cafeterias. Tuesday classes will run with shortened periods, though dismissal will occur at the regular time.
The district also announced that absences will be excused Tuesday if any parents are unable to take their child to school due to the weather or because they simply don’t feel safe doing so. All missed schoolwork will be expected to be made up, however, and district officials ask parents to call the school and inform administration if they intend on keeping their child home.
