CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Chuck Gray won the Republican Primary race in his bid to become the next Wyoming Secretary of State, the Secretary of State’s Office reported Tuesday.
Gray garnered 48.3% of the vote on Tuesday, besting Tara Nethercott and Mark Armstrong in the Republican Primary. Current Secretary of State Ed Buchanan did not run for reelection.
Results are unofficial until certified by local and state officials.
The Wyoming Democratic Party fielded no candidate for Secretary of State in its Primary Election. Independent candidates have until Monday, Aug. 29 to file for placement on the General Election ballot.
Results of the Republican Primary were as follows, according to the Secretary of State’s Office:
- Mark Armstrong:14,292
- Dan Dockstader (withdrew from the race in July): 3,465
- Chuck Gray: 75,938
- Tara Nethercott: 63,044
The General Election will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 8. Absentee voting for the General Election will begin on Sept. 23 and run through Nov. 7.
