What are your plans for promoting economic growth and attracting new businesses to Cheyenne?
Simple we sell Cheyenne and we sell Wyoming! I know here lately we’ve had a radio ad about all the benefits of Wyoming and the area and if that type of advertising goes nationwide and worldwide along with targeted social media advertising for vacation, wild west adventure seekers, and outdoor enthusiast it would be an excellent start!
How do you plan to address public safety concerns and ensure the well-being of Cheyenne residents?
As a town grows, the interior needs to as well! We have the new fire station and new engines but we are falling short on our police force. They are burning out some nights with general calls for service then, right in the middle, an major incident happens and it becomes a “All Available Unit Assist” call to reset the call boards! So I’m looking at more officers and pay salary increases to help protect our growing community!
What are your plans for improving Cheyenne’s infrastructure, including roads, public transportation, and utilities?
Our biggest headache has always been a lack of a good taxi cab service here In Cheyenne. Over the years plenty have tried it and get drowned by the overhead costs that come with it and go under while some “taxi companies” in town have been “under the table” illegal or they are bypassing safety regulations for a buck! We need to put dedicated bus routes and a taxi cab service in Cheyenne to help the general population thrive and flourish!
Potholes are a part of life. We need to chose different ways of traveling from point A to point B sometimes to ease the strain of the areas that get most affected by potholes because of constant usage of that roadway.
How do you plan to involve the community in decision-making processes and ensure transparency in your administration?
I love town hall meeting type events! Especially when it is major road projects for a certain community or a complete redesign and rebuild of an area like the Railspur project! I also think the agenda board of City council meeting needs to be better designed so if people want to have a say in matter up in front of the council they know date & time more efficiently! I know personally I have missed some because of lack of communication!
What initiatives will you implement to promote environmental sustainability and address climate change at the local level?
I have always hated the fact that we don’t recycle very much and we leave the workers at the sanitation department to constantly sort the trash and find actual trash and items that can be recycled and upcycled as well. Our blue bin program is a awesome start but we as a disposable society need more!
Is there anything else you’d like voters to know about you?
My name is Buddy Tennant and I am one of the candidates for the mayor’s office in the upcoming 2024 elections.
Aa a foreign diplomatic representative for many years, I have seen many types of cities, communities, people, & cultures flourish with innovation and self destruct with poor planning and leadership as well.
It is because of my intelligence level, my experience, and how I was raised in traditional values, I have been asked to consider running for Governor of this great state of ours (I have legislative bills and prototype laws already to go) after the mayor’s office and after that to run for the President of the United States where my two main goals would be to bring the United back into the United states not divided like we have become and to also bring the United Nation together as one ideal voice for every community, every society & every generation on Earth!
But first, the Mayor office as my ground floor to start this political journey to fix what is broken at all levels of government!
