CHEYENNE, Wyo. — With Wyoming in the thick of election season, more candidates will soon be filing to run for seats on local government positions.
The candidate filing period for school board seats, including positions on community college trustee boards, opened Wednesday. According to Laramie County Clerk Debra Lee, the filing period will continue from now through Monday, Aug. 26.
According to Lee, the following positions are open for county education boards:
- LCSD1: Three at-large positions on the seven-person board are open.
- LCSD2: One trustee position each for Areas C, D and F are open for the nine-person board. Two positions are open for Area E.
- LCCC: Four candidates will be elected to the Laramie County Community College Board of Trustees, which is comprised of seven people.
Candidates can file in person at the county election office in the Laramie County Governmental Complex, 309 W. 20th St., Suite 1500. Applications are available in the office or on the online election page here.
Anyone looking to submit their application digitally can do so by emailing it to election@laramiecountywy.gov using the subject line “Trustee Candidate [candidate name]” or by faxing it to 307-633-4240. No filing fee is required for these positions.
The school board and community college board of trustees positions will be on the ballot during the General Election on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
