CHEYENNE, Wyo. — House District 10 incumbent Rep. John Eklund came out on top Tuesday in his primary election race against challenger Jennifer James.
Eklund received 1,516 votes, roughly 72% of the ballots cast. James earned 546 votes.
Eklund has served as his district’s representative since 2011. He currently serves as chairman of the House Agriculture, State and Public Lands and Water Resources Committee, and as a member on the Select Water Committee.
There is not a Democratic Party challenger to the seat, but the last day for independent filing is Aug. 26.
All results are unofficial until ratified by the state.
