CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Incumbent Senate District 4 Rep. Tara Nethercott received her party’s support in Tuesday’s primary race, beating out challenger Gregg Smith.
Nethercott received 2,941 votes, roughly 73% of the votes cast. Smith got 1,059 votes.
Nethercott has served as her district’s senator since 2017. She currently serves on several senate committees, including as chair of the Subcommittee on Legislator Finance Ethics Complaint Procedures and as vice chair of the Select Committee on Capital Financing and Investments.
There is no Democratic Party opponent filed to oppose Nethercott in the general election, but the deadline for independent filing is Aug. 26.
All election results are unofficial until ratified by the state.
