CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Cheyenne voters have chosen their next representative for Senate District 8. Jared Olsen defeated Marguerite Hermanin this year’s general election for the state senate seat. Olsen won the race with a lead of 3,441 votes to Herman’s 2,463.
The final unofficial vote count, as of midnight, per Laramie County Clerk’s Office results, is as follows:
- Jared Olsen (GOP): 3,441
- Marguerite Herman (DEM): 2,463
- Write-In Totals: 39
- Total Votes Cast: 5,943
In the August primary, Olsen secured the Republican nomination with 1,222 votes, while Herman won the Democratic primary with 460 votes.
