CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Former President Donald Trump has once again easily garnered support from the majority of residents in southeast Wyoming.
Donald Trump and running mate J.D. Vance have received 67% of votes from voters in Laramie County, according to election results from the County Clerk’s Office.
The following is the final vote count for each candidate, per results from the Laramie County Clerk’s Office:
- Donald Trump/JD Vance – R: 25,119
- Kamala Harris/Tim Walz – D: 11,305
- Chase Oliver/Mike ter Maat – L: 591
- Write-In Totals: 394
- Total Votes Cast: 37,409
Laramie County’s support for Trump rose during this election cycle compared to prior years. In 2020, 27,891 voters in Laramie County, or 62% of voters, supported Trump and running mate Mike Pence, per results from the county website. Trump easily defeated Hillary Clinton in 2016. The former president garnered 60% of the votes, or support from 24,847 voters.
Overall, Trump has proven to be more popular with Wyomingites as a whole than just those in Laramie County. He received just under 70% of ballot votes among 276,765 voters in 2020, according to results from the Wyoming Secretary of State’s website. These results are nearly identical to those from 2016, where Trump and Pence handily claimed just over 70% of the votes across 248,945 ballots.
