CHEYENNE, Wyo. — A popular author from Wyoming will be making an appearance next month at the Laramie County Library to promote his newest book.

C.J. Box, born in Casper and best known as the author of the “Joe Pickett” series of books that have since turned into a television series, will be presenting his most recent novel, “Treasure State,” at 6 p.m. Oct. 4 inside the Cottonwood Room at the library at 2200 Pioneer Ave., per a Wednesday news release from the library.

Doors will open for the event at 5:30 p.m., with Box reading an excerpt from the novel and answering audience questions before signing books. “Treasure State” is a new book in Box’s “Cassie Dewell” series, which is separate from the popular “Joe Pickett” books.
