Animal athletes take center stage at Wyoming State Museum’s Family Fun Day

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The Wyoming State Museum is set to host an engaging and educational “Animal Athletes” event for its February Family Fun Day, scheduled for Feb. 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The program, designed for people of all ages, promises an exciting exploration of some of the world’s most athletically talented animal species. Attendees will have the opportunity to compare their abilities with those of various animals, such as sprinting like a pronghorn or jumping as high as a mountain lion, according to a press release by the museum.

The event includes a range of activities, games, crafts and hands-on encounters with museum collections. Participants will gain insights into the evolutionary adaptations of animals from around the globe.

In addition to exploring artifacts from the museum’s collections, guests will interact with partners from the Cheyenne Animal Shelter, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and Wyoming Outdoor Recreation. Each partner will contribute additional knowledge about the fascinating wildlife found worldwide.

This family-oriented event is free for all attendees. Families interested in participating can register online or by phone at 307-630-2573.

The Wyoming State Museum is located in the Barrett Building at 2301 Central Ave. For more details about the event, please call 307-630-2573.
