Ranch Rodeo, midway excitement continue today at Laramie County Fair

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The Laramie County Fair is continuing today with the highly anticipated Ranch Rodeo. The midway, featuring activities like an inflatable zone, face painting, mini-golf, carnival games, pony rides and a petting zoo, promises fun for all ages. 

The barns open early at 6 a.m., and participants can bring in all swine, lamb and goat tack starting at 7. All animals must go through vet checks before unloading, with lambs and goats required to be in place by 11 a.m. Swine vet checks will run from noon to 5 p.m., and beef can come in until 5 p.m. or wait until Monday morning.

The 4-H Alpaca Show begins at 9 a.m., followed by the Pee Wee Alpaca Show in the Show Ring. FFA static exhibits are due in place by 10 a.m. in the Event Center Pre-Function Area. Meanwhile, visitors can enjoy a 3-D printer demo and kids’ crafts in the Exhibit Hall from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The Laramie County Fair Ranch Rodeo begins at 3 p.m. in the Archer Arenas. At 4 p.m., the Lovable Mutt Contest, open to the public, will take place.

The Goat Born & Raised Youth Show starts at 6 p.m. in the Show Ring, followed by the “Milk A Goat” event at 7 p.m. in the Dairy Goat Area. The barns close at 10 p.m., with a curfew set for 11 p.m.

Schedule for Sunday, Aug. 4

6 a.m.: Barns open
7 a.m.: All swine, lamb, and goat tack allowed to be brought in
7 a.m.–5 p.m.: Vet check for all animals
9 a.m.: 4-H Alpaca Show followed by Pee Wee Alpaca Show (Show Ring)
8–10 a.m.: All FFA static exhibits due in place (Event Center Pre-Function Area)
10 a.m.–8 p.m.: 3-D printer demo (Exhibit Hall)
10 a.m.–8 p.m.: Kids crafts (Exhibit Hall)
11 a.m.: All lambs and goats must be in the barn
11:30 a.m.–2 p.m.: Market goat weigh-in and ultrasound (Small Animal Building, North scale)
11:30 a.m.–2 p.m.: Market lamb weigh-in (Small Animal Building, South scale)
2:30 p.m.: Market lamb ultrasound (Small Animal Building)
3 p.m.: Laramie County Fair Ranch Rodeo (Archer Arenas)
4 p.m.: Lovable Mutt Contest open to the public (TBD)
5 p.m.: All swine must be in the barn
6 p.m.: Goat Born & Raised Youth Show (Show Ring)
7 p.m.: Milk A Goat (Dairy Goat Area)
10 p.m.: Barns closed
11 p.m.: Curfew
