CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Residents of southeast Wyoming have another days-long festival in store hot off the heels of Cheyenne Frontier Days and the Laramie County Fair.
The Wyoming Aviation Festival is taking flight Wednesday, with cockpit tours, aircraft displays, activities and historical presentations to be held over several days. The festival, held Wednesday through Sunday, is hosted by education and fundraising organization Wyoming Aviation Heritage League. The festival is being held at the old 1960s airport terminal, 300 E. 8th Ave.
The following is the full list of events over the five-day festival:
Wednesday
- T-6 and RC-45J rides (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
- Commemorative Air Force aircraft displays and cockpit tours (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
Thursday
- T-6 and RC-45J rides (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
- Commemorative Air Force aircraft displays and cockpit tours (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
Friday
- T-6 and RC-45J rides (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
- Commemorative Air Force aircraft displays and cockpit tours (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
- Wyoming Aviation History Week proclamation with Gov. Mark Gordon (1:30 p.m.)
- Aviation Hall of Fame induction presentation (1:30 p.m.)
Saturday
- B-29 rides (7:30 a.m. and 9 a.m.)

Activities, vintage aircraft displays, vendors and food trucks will be stationed at the terminal. Gov. Gordon’s proclamation will be held west of the terminal and can be accessed through Gate A. Aviation history presentations will be at the old community hangar, accessible through Gate B.
