CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Vehicle enthusiasts are in for a treat this weekend as a car show, evening cruise and after-party are on the calendar of events all through Saturday.

Dozens of vendors and hundreds of cars will be stationed in Frontier Park on Saturday as Angelina’s Dream Foundation hosts its second annual Summer Showdown vehicle show. The event, occurring from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., will also feature food trucks, live music and family-friendly activities such as face painting and bounce houses. Later in the afternoon, the foundation will hold a cruise downtown, as well as an after-party late into the night.

The foundation was formed in March 2023 to honor the life and legacy of Angelina Harrison, a 16-year-old Triumph High School student who was fatally shot at Frontier Mall in January 2023. David Harrison, Angelina’s father, aims to host events and community gatherings that “create an environment where people can come with their family and friends and just enjoy life a little bit,” he told Cap City News in April.

At the first annual event in 2023, around 200 vehicles were registered into the car show. This year is gearing up to be even bigger, Harrison said. Staff with Cruise Culture Magazine will be attending the event to feature one of the show’s vehicles in a future edition of their publication.

On top of the show, Harrison will raffling off a 1966 Lincoln Continental at Saturday’s event. To enter, view the QR code below.

Following the car show, the foundation will hold its Cruise & After Party in the evening in downtown Cheyenne. The cruise will be at 7 p.m. at the Depot Plaza, and the after-party begins at 8 p.m. inside the Lincolnway Event Center, 3839 E. Lincolnway. The party will feature a cash bar, live band and DJ. The cover charge is $5.

Cost to pre-register for the car show is $20. The day-of registration fee is $25. To register online, click here.

All proceeds for the event will go toward scholarships that Angelina’s Dream Foundation administers. The foundation awards funds to individuals who attend Cheeks Beauty Academy in Cheyenne, which is where Angelina hoped to attend following high school.
