CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The following is a list of events going on in Wyoming’s capital city this weekend. This list focuses on curating local events that are free, family-friendly and community-based. Some listings may be seasonal and require an entrance fee or ticket. Weekly recurring events in the community are typically not included in this list. Saturday
Family Day: Día de los Muertos
Where: Wyoming State Museum, 2301 Central Ave.
When: 9:30 a.m.
Celebrate your loved ones that have passed and learn about the traditions and history of the Day of the Dead!
- 9:30 a.m. – Ofrenda de Danza (Dance Offering) and a Capitol City Car Club cruise.
- 10 a.m. – Folklórico dance performance
- 12:30 p.m. – Folklórico dance performance
Learn about and decorate your own delicious sugar skulls; create beautiful Papel Picado (or “pecked paper”) decorations to take home; discover how the annual monarch butterfly migration creates an important connection between the living and the dead; see altars set up by community members and students; make paper cup lanterns; watch a dance performance; and eat delicious foods from local vendors!

Day of the Dead Celebration
Where: Tivoli Building, 301 W. Lincolnway
When: 10 a.m.
Twinkle Twinkle Little Store invites you to join us Nov. 1 and 2 to celebrate The Day of the Dead.
We will be setting up an altar (ofrenda) at our downtown location at the Tivoli. Please bring something by, to leave on the altar to honor your ancestors. We would also love to see you in your best Sugar Skull face! Stop in at both 3344 Ridge Road and the Tivoli Building. If you would like your picture taken, we will be glad to share.
Everyone that stops in either location will get a ticket entry for a special giveaway we will be doing.
Mr. Critters Reptile Expo
Where: Event Center at Archer, 3801 Archer Parkway
When: 10 a.m.
Wyoming’s largest reptile expo is coming to Laramie County this weekend at Archer center building M and K. Face painting and glitter tattoos for all ages will be offered.
Extra Life Charity Fundraiser 2024
Where: Game Masters, 1612 Central Ave.
When: 10 a.m. to midnight
Join us for our first annual fundraiser for Children’s Hospital in Aurora! We will have major events for EVERY game we play, as well as open play for all. $20 entry to the play space that day, with all entry fees going to charity.

Every hour you play in the store you receive a raffle ticket for amazing hourly prizes, including our grand prize of a $500 gift card! You can also purchase additional raffle tickets with additional donations to Extra Life!

Tamales for Día de los Muertos
Where: Railspur, 707 W. Lincolnway
When: Noon to 6 p.m.
Immerse yourself in the rich Mexican tradition of honoring the departed. Enjoy a family-friendly event featuring:
- Community Ofrenda: Admire a stunning giant balloon arch and a beautiful ofrenda dedicated to loved ones who have passed. Guests are invited to bring images and personal items of their loved ones who have passed. This heartfelt space will be adorned with flowers, candles and traditional decorations, fostering a sense of connection and remembrance.
- Tamale Specials: Savor delicious and authentic tamales with frijoles rancheros.
- Balloon Artist: From 1 to 2 p.m. Delight in the whimsical creations of our friends at @Alpacaglobo Balloon.
This event is a wonderful opportunity to experience the beauty and culture of Día de los Muertos. Bring the whole family and create lasting memories together.
LCCC Music Concert: “A Vocal Showcase”
Where: 1400 E. College Drive
When: 3–4 p.m.
A concert of vocal talents including Cantorei, Collegiate Chorale, Jazz Ensemble and Student Soloists: featuring the East High School Choirs. Located in the LCCC Surbrugg/Prentice Auditorium. Free and open to the public.
Glenwood Springs Adventure Day
Where: 801 Randall Ave.
When: 3 p.m.

Nightmare on 17th Street
Where: Knights of Pythias, 312 W. 17th St.
When: 7–11 p.m.
The Knights of Pythias annual “Nightmare on 17th Street” Haunted House is back for another year of scares! Back by popular demand, Halloween night will be Blackout Night. The house will be open on weekends through Nov. 2.
Derby Lanes Opening Weekend Celebration
