CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The following is a list of events going on in Wyoming’s capital city this weekend. This list focuses on curating local events that are free, family-friendly and  community-based. Some listings may be seasonal and require an entrance fee or ticket. Weekly recurring events in the community are typically not included in this list. Saturday

Frontier Park Family Tennis Center Grand Opening

Where: 1312 W. 8th Ave.
When: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Join the Cheyenne Tennis Association and Frontier Park Family Tennis Center for the Grand Opening of our four brand-new tennis courts! There will be free drop-in play all day!

  • 11 a.m.: Free 12 and under Group Class
  • 5 p.m.: Family Social with Food and Drinks

You won’t want to miss this fun-filled tennis event!


The Big Red Barn Arts & Crafts Extravaganza

Where: 7601 Belmont Ave.
When: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

There are a number of artisans from Cheyenne participating in this Arts & Crafts Extravaganza. Something for everyone!


42nd Annual Holiday Open House

Where: Bouquets Unlimited, Inc., 5709 Yellowstone Road
When: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Come help us celebrate our 42nd anniversary! It is our Annual Holiday Open House. We will have local artists with oil paintings and jewelry! Come and see all of the new and exciting Christmas and Thanksgiving decorations. 

“When cardinals appear, angels are near.” This is one theme and we have western and dragons! We will have door prizes, refreshments and a rose for each lady. We will also be giving away a $100.00 gift card to the one who guesses how many mints are in the jar!

Autumn Knights

Where: Railspur, 707 W. Lincolnway
When: Noon

Join us for a free day of autumnal enchantment at Railspur on Saturday! Dress the par and immerse yourself in the magic of the season with potion bottle terrarium crafting by Sunshine Plant Company.

Thrilling live duels by Cheyenne HEMA, and delectable treats like smoked turkey legs, apple strudel and fluffy cotton candy from Gringos Sweet Treats. Adults can enjoy a special selection of Honey Mead and beer offerings.


Meow-ingo Game Day

Where: Catz N Coffee Connections, 615 W. 20th St.
When: 1–3 p.m.

Come play cat bingo with our feline friends.

It’s a fun time on a Saturday afternoon. Enjoy some games and then get time with our cool cats.

‘The Velveteen Rabbit’

Where: Mary Godfrey Playhouse, 2706 E. Pershing Blvd.
When: 7:30 p.m.

“The Velveteen Rabbit” provides young audiences with comedy, pathos, adventure and a final triumph for the hero, who learns that love makes all things real.

Written as a “memory play,” “The Velveteen Rabbit” is an emotional journey through time, as told through the eyes of a young man looking back on his childhood. By reliving the relationship between his 4-year-old self and his favorite toy, the velveteen rabbit, he rediscovers the true meaning of friendship.

The production is adapted by James Still from the classic story by Margery Williams. Director is Diane Edgar.

CSO ‘Classical to Contemporary’ Concert

Where: Cheyenne Civic Center, 510 W. 20th St.
When: 7:30–9:30 p.m.

CSO and Maestro William Intriligator present Classical to Contemporary, featuring CSO’s concertmaster, Stacy Lesartre, on Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 5, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 4, and a contemporary piece from Loggins-Hull, “The Inheritors Overture.”

Coffee, Henna & Books

When: Noon to 4 p.m.
