CHEYENNE, Wyo. — On Sept. 26 from 4 to 6:30 p.m., the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center’s Cancer Center will be hosting an open house for the community to talk about the center’s new VitalBeam linear accelerator.
The open house will take place on the first-floor lobby of the hospital’s Cancer Center at 310 E. 24th St.
The VitalBeam was installed over the summer and has been in use since Aug. 31. It’s also the second linear accelerator in use at the Cancer Center.
The new linear accelerator has several advancements, which include an extremely narrow field of treatment, short delivery times, high-resolution imaging, and continuous accuracy checks.
Tours of the radiation oncology treatment area and linear accelerator will be provided by Cancer Center staff and Dr. Dziemianowicz, who will also be available for questions.
All attendees will be required to wear a mask. The open house will include light refreshments. No RSVP is required.
