CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Cheyenne Regional Medical Center is inviting the public and local professionals to its Trauma Skills Fair on Oct. 11. The event will take place at the hospital’s west campus, 214 E. 23rd St., inside the Auditoriums from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Trauma Skills Fair aims to provide essential training and insights into trauma care. While the event primarily targets pre-hospital emergency medical services, Volunteer EMS, in-hospital staff, and neighboring agencies, the public is also welcome to attend. Attendees can drop in at their convenience to participate in a range of hands-on activities.
Participants will have the opportunity to learn and practice various critical skills. The fair will cover topics such as basic and advanced airway management, cricothyrotomy, needle decompression and rapid infuser review. Other skills include intraosseous placement, managing OB trauma and pediatric scenarios. Additionally, attendees can learn about pelvic binder application, traction, tourniquet application and chest tube review.
A variety of vendors will be present to provide additional resources and information. Participating organizations include UC Health, LifeLine, the Wyoming Emergency Nurses Association, CRMC HR, Donor Alliance, Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Bank, SANE (Forensic Nursing), Henry Schein and TEG.
