Wyoming reports 16 additional COVID-19 related deaths, bringing pandemic total to 1,588

The Wyoming Department of Health on Tuesday reported 16 additional COVID-19 related deaths among Wyoming residents. 

There have been 1,588 total COVID-19 related deaths among Wyoming residents since the pandemic began. These are deaths “that have COVID-19 listed as either the underlying or primary cause of death or as a contributing cause of death,” the WDH explains.

Hospitalization data reported by the WDH as of Tuesday is as follows:

  • Wyoming COVID-19 hospitalizations were at 66 on Tuesday, up from 65 on Monday.
  • Peak hospitalizations in Wyoming occurred on Oct. 21, 2021, when there were 249 COVID-19 patients in hospitals across the state.
  • There were 17 COVID-19 patients at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center and 16 at the Wyoming Medical Center on Tuesday.
  • There were 8 of 20 available intensive care unit beds open at the Wyoming Medical Center on Tuesday. 14 of 25 ICU beds were open at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.
