CHEYENNE, Wyo. — A milestone mark of zero COVID-19-related hospitalizations was reported in the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center’s (CRMC’s) weekly virus update Monday, per data from the hospital.

CRMC reported that seven COVID-19 patients had been discharged in the past week and no new patients had come in suffering from the virus, a bit of good news in terms of the pandemic’s presence in the area following a high of 46 total hospitalizations in just the past six months, occurring during the week of Nov. 15.

Virus hospitalization numbers have been dropping for quite some time both at CRMC and across the state of Wyoming. The hospital reached just single-digit hospitalizations starting the week of March 14 before steadily dropping to zero.

COVID-19 cases across the state have dramatically decreased over the past few months, with the Wyoming Department of Health reporting just two cases statewide this past Thursday — the final daily count before the department announced it would only be conducting updates on a weekly basis every Tuesday from that point forward.

Laramie County has reported approximately 19,146 cases and 289 deaths related to COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic, according to data from the Wyoming Department of Health. These values are the highest of any county in Wyoming.

The Wyoming Department of Health provides COVID-19 case, variant, death, testing, hospital and vaccine data online. The department also shares information about how the data can be interpreted. COVID-19 safety recommendations are available from the CDC.
