CASPER, Wyo. — The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is asking hunters to complete surveys after they finish their season.
“The survey gathers harvest information and feedback on the 2022 hunting season,” Game and Fish said in a release Monday. “It takes only a few minutes to complete and contributes valuable data for monitoring the state’s wildlife populations, setting future quotas, season dates and other regulations.”
The surveys are sent to all license holders for moose, bighorn sheep, mountain goat, black bear, mountain lion, gray wolf, wild turkey, furbearer, sandhill crane and light goose via either email or the U.S. Postal Service. Some but not all antelope, deer and elk license holders can expect surveys as these hunters are randomly sampled due to the large volume of hunters, Game and Fish said.
“Some hunters may receive a survey before their season ends, but Game and Fish asks hunters to wait until they are finished hunting or their season is over before filling out the survey,” the release added. “Responding online is the best way to submit your response.”
Hunters who receive and complete antelope, deer or elk harvest surveys are entered into a drawing to win prizes. Game and Fish said prizes have been donated by the following companies:
- Hi Mountain Jerky
- Huntin’ Fool
- JAX Outdoor Gear
- Kenetrek Boots

“To be eligible for prizes, hunters who are selected for a survey must submit responses by Jan. 5 for antelope, Jan. 26 for deer and Feb. 2 for elk,” the department said.
The firm Tetra Tech is conducting the high-volume antelope, deer and elk surveys after winning a competitive bid.
“Hunters who have questions about the antelope, deer and elk surveys can contact Tetra Tech’s survey team directly at 1-800-216-0477,” Game and Fish said. “For all harvest surveys hunters also can contact Game and Fish, at (307) 777-4589.”
