CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Wyoming Free Fishing Day will happen on Saturday, June 1, giving anglers the chance to fish without a license.
Cheyenne will get in on the action with Maury Brown Kids Fishing Day, set for 10 a.m.–2 p.m. June 1. Participants receive a free fishing pole, tackle box and lunch. Registration was mandatory and has closed, according to the Wyoming Game and Fish Department.
However, people can fish for free anywhere in the state on Saturday, with the exceptions of the Wind River Reservation and Yellowstone National Park, according to the Wyoming Game and Fish Department.
“All fishing regulations, creel and size limits, gear restrictions and stream closures remain in effect,” Game and Fish said in a news release. “Anglers can review the 2024 Fishing Regulations online before heading out and planning their trips with the interactive fishing guide.
Nine kids fishing events are set to occur on Saturday, with five communities hosting free kids fishing events later in June, according to Game and Fish. Here is a schedule of the kids fishing events provided by Game and Fish:
