CHEYENNE, Wyo. — After a series of complaints from residents, the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office is now prohibiting truck traffic through Green Mountain Road and Liberty Street as a portion of Dell Range Boulevard is under construction.
According to a release from the county sheriff’s office, residents in the neighborhoods peripheral to the Dell Range construction have become increasingly concerned with the amount of commercial traffic and speeding through the detour. The office said in the release that it’s heard the concerns and is attempting to address them.
“We understand that increased patrol activity, traffic stops and tickets may not fully resolve these issues. In collaboration with the City of Cheyenne and WYDOT, we are attending weekly meetings with the construction companies to address the concerns,” the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office said in the release.
In the release, the office said that these meetings have led to the installation of “no truck traffic signs” in the detour route through Green Meadow and Liberty. The office is also monitoring the detour route opposite the intersection of Whitney and Dell Range going through Foxglove Drive for similar issues.
Concluding the release, the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office said that it is positive that the Dell Range construction is ahead of schedule.
“However, we acknowledge that more construction is yet to come. Please do not hesitate to reach out to the LCSO with your traffic-related concerns anywhere in Laramie County,” The office said in the release.
