CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Starting the morning of Tuesday, Aug. 27, crews with the Wyoming Department of Transportation and two private construction companies will begin detouring eastbound traffic along US Highway 30 to Pershing Boulevard.
The new route would take commuters off the highway at Whitney Road south to Pershing Boulevard, where they would then reconnect with the highway via Reese Road.
According to a release from WYDOT, the paving operation necessitating the detour would begin Tuesday morning as long as weather permits and would last only through the afternoon of the same day.
The department encourages drivers to obey all signage and other traffic control devices relating to the detour and to be vigilant and undistracted by things like cellphone use, especially through work zones. According to the release, all information is subject to change due to weather and other potential interruptions.
