CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Snowfall and icy conditions are creating challenging travel for drivers in and around the Cheyenne area Wednesday morning, with slick roads, black ice and blowing snow reported across multiple highways.
A crash on northbound Interstate 25 near milepost 2 is blocking the left lane and causing delays. The Wyoming Department of Transportation says drivers in the area should exercise caution. Additionally, roadways from the Colorado state line into Cheyenne are slick with snowfall, with similar conditions extending north to Exit 29 at Whitaker Road.
I-80 is seeing widespread impacts, including slick spots and snowfall on the Cheyenne Service Road between the Archer Interchange and WYO 217. Between Exit 335 near Buford and Exit 348 at Otto Road, drivers face slick roads, limited visibility and ongoing snowfall. Black ice has been reported from Exit 348 to Exit 359 at the I-25 junction. Width restrictions of 15 feet are in place for eastbound and westbound lanes near milepost 359.
U.S. Highway 85 is wet with snowfall from the Colorado state line through Cheyenne and north to Meriden.
Elsewhere, WYO 210 (Happy Jack Road) is slick with snowfall and blowing snow from Cheyenne to Mile Marker 16. Wet and slick patches continue along the route to Curt Gowdy State Park. WYO 211, stretching between WYO 219 (Yellowstone Road) and Jordan Road, is also slick, with weight restrictions in effect near milepost 20.
WYO 212 between I-25 and East Four Mile Road is wet with snowfall, with a width restriction of 10 feet in place from College Drive to Four Mile Road. Roads remain slick between College Drive and WYO 219.
WYO 222 and WYO 225 are wet with snowfall, though no restrictions or advisories are currently reported.
