LARAMIE, Wyo. — The 2024–25 NFL season is underway, and several University of Wyoming players are on rosters currently making an impact. Here’s how they did in the opening week’s slate of games.

Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills

The Bills’ star quarterback got his season started with a solid performance on Sunday, as he helped lift his team to a 34–28 win over the Arizona Cardinals.

Allen was a reliable 18-of-23 on passing attempts, throwing for 232 yards, a pair of touchdowns and no interceptions. He also picked up 39 yards on the ground and ran for two more touchdowns.

The game was far from an easy win, as the Bills found themselves trailing 17–3 at one point before a pair of unanswered touchdowns allowed them to tie things up and eventually pull ahead.

“We got Josh Allen, man, so we always have a chance in games,” Bills star linebacker Von Miller told reporters after the game. “It didn’t matter how much we were down. It didn’t matter what it looked like. We just got so much trust in Josh Allen and that offense.”

Frank Crum, Denver Broncos

Crum, an offensive tackle for the Broncos in his very first NFL season, did not make an appearance on the field in his team’s 26–20 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

After going unselected in the 2024 NFL draft, Crum was signed by the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent.

The Broncos’ next outing will be a home game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sept. 15.

Marcus Epps, Las Vegas Raiders

Epps, a safety, had a solid Week 1 performance on Sunday, though his team fell 22–10 to the Los Angeles Chargers.

Epps had five total tackles in the outing and six passes defended. He took the field for every one of the Raiders’ defensive downs.

Carl Granderson, New Orleans Saints

Coming off of a stellar 2023–24 season in which he became one of the undisputed leaders of the Saints’ defensive unit, Granderson started his 2024–25 season with a relatively quiet performance. However, he wasn’t needed for much, as the Saints easily crushed the Carolina Panthers 47–10.

In the game, the defensive end finished with three tackles.

Chad Muma, Jacksonville Jaguars

Muma had a quiet outing in Week 1, and his team lost a hard-fought battle against the Miami Dolphins 20–17.

He recorded a pair of tackles in the game, taking the field for just 14% of defensive snaps and 64% of the special teams snaps.

Logan Wilson, Cincinnati Bengals

Wilson, a Casper native, opened his 2024–25 season with a stellar performance in his team’s Week 1 loss to the New England Patriots by a score of 16–10.

Wilson finished with 13 tackles, 2.5 stuffs and a forced fumble in the loss. Wilson was the Bengals’ top tackler last season.
