UW signs 20 future Cowboys on signing day; Wyoming’s top recruit joins the Pokes

LARAMIE, Wyo. — The University of Wyoming Athletics Department has announced its new recruits for the school’s football program. These freshmen come from all over the country and every position in Wyoming’s favorite game.

New Recruits

Parker Moore – Linebacker

Moore is the 22nd highest ranked player out of his home state of Kansas this past football season. According to UW Athletics, he landed 73 tackles — 14 for loss of yards — and five sacks in his senior year of high school.

Moore was reportedly scouted and recruited by Kansas, Air Force, Northern Iowa and other universities, but will be joining the Pokes’ roster in 2025.

Moore weighs 225 pounds and is 6-foot-2.

Deion DeBlanc – Wide Receiver

Three-star recruit DeBlanc is from Houston, Texas. Though subject to change as his high school team is still playing in Texas’s high school football playoffs, DeBlanc has thus far recorded 546 receiving yards over 40 receptions this school year. He has scored five receiving touchdowns and two on-the-ground touchdowns this season as well, according to UW Athletics.

DeBlanc was eyed by a handful of Power Four conference teams before signing with the Cowboys. Oregon, Arkansas, Arizona State and Houston reportedly recruited him.

This wide receiver is 5-foot-10 and weighs 180 pounds.

Tariq Miller – Offensive Lineman

Miller is the 13th best player out of the state of Iowa, where he was a unanimous all-district player.

The three-star recruit was also recruited by Montana, Northern Iowa and Southern Illinois. He is 290 pounds and 6-foot-3.

Kyle Frendt – Tight End

Frendt is another three-star recruit and was determined to be the ninth best outgoing senior in his state of Minnesota.

According to UW Athletics, he recorded 1,695 yards through all four years of high school for 12 touchdowns. He averaged 14.9 yards per catch receiving through high school as well.

Iowa State, Kent State, Ball State and North Dakota State also threw their hat in the ring for Frendt, but Wyoming got him. He is 6-foot-4 and weighs 220 pounds.

Johnathan Bush – Offensive Lineman

This Texas lineman recorded 32 pancake blocks through high school and just recently helped bring his team to the Texas high school playoffs.

Boston College and Tulsa recruited this 290-pound, 6-foot-2 senior before Wyoming signed him.

Kalvin Janssen – Offensive Lineman

Janssen is a three-star recruit and number 15 out of the entire state of Nebraska. He is 6-foot-3 and 290 pounds.

He was additionally recruited by Colorado State, Army, Navy, Coastal Carolina and Northern Illinois.

Henry Rehberg – Defensive Tackle

Another star from Nebraska, Rehberg is a three-star recruit and squeaked a spot right under Janssen as the 14th best player out of the state. This past year, he landed 47 tackles — nine for a loss — and seven sacks.

North Dakota, North Dakota State and Montana all had their eyes on this 6-foot-2, 225-pound player.

Ke’Lyn Washom – Wide Receiver

Washom is a 6-foot-1, 195-pound receiver out of Houston, Texas.

He was recruited by UNLV and Washington, among other schools.

Pierre “PJ” Jackson – Wide Receiver

Being the cousin of current Cowboy freshman Chris Durr Jr., Wyoming was the natural choice for this 5-foot-11, 160-pound receiver from Chicago.

In his senior year, Jackson nabbed 32 catches for 647 yards and 10 touchdowns. This year, his team had a 10–2 record overall.

Axel Ramazami – Defensive End

This three-star recruit from Iowa recorded 49 tackles this season, with 9.5 of those being tackles for loss. Ramazami is the 16th best outgoing senior out of Iowa and cousin of Wyoming star running back Harrison Waylee.

Ramazami was also recruited by Cincinnati, Illinois State, North Dakota and North Dakota State. He is 6-foot-2 and 225 pounds.

Samuel “Tote” Harris – Running Back

Three-star running back Samuel Harris averaged 9.3 yards per carry with three touchdowns this year. According to UW Athletics, he helped take his team deep into play off waters with a double-digit win record and an undefeated district record.

The 5-foot-11, 180-pound Texas player received offers from Washington, UNLV, San Jose State, Nevada and Utah.

Landon Pace – Tight End

This big tight end from St. Louis, Missouri, is 6-foot-3 and 240 pounds. He also happens to be son of NFL Hall of Famer Orlando Pace.

He received significant interest from Ohio State — his father’s alma mater — Georgia Tech, Iowa, Memphis and Missouri.

Cooper Lawson – Offensive Lineman

This Afton, Wyoming, native is staying home in 2025. He is 6-foot-4 and 260 pounds. He helped lead Star Valley High School to the 3A Wyoming High School Championship this year — his third straight.

BJ Inmon – Cornerback

Inmon is the first non-freshman of the list. This sophomore played for Snow College in Utah this past season as redshirt, where he bagged 14 tackles and two interceptions. While there, Snow College ranked in the top five in junior college polls.

He is originally from Las Vegas, Nevada, and is 5-foot-11 and 170 pounds.

Jaden Lawrence – Running Back

This 5-foot-10, 185-pound running back is the 14th best out of Colorado. In his high school career, he rushed for 2,801 yards and scored 37 touchdowns. 955 of those yards he ran as a senior.

Lawrence was also recruited by conference opponent Air Force.

Cade Brook – Defensive End

Brook ended his high school career with 150 tackles, with 10 for a loss. In his senior year, he landed 25 solo stops and 34 in total. He landed 10 sacks in his senior season alone.

At 6-foot-3 and 225 pounds, Brook was listed in the top 25 players out of Colorado. Washington State and Colorado State expressed interest in him.

Elvin Ampofo – Safety

Ampofo is also a Coloradan and the 15th best out of the state to boot. In his senior year, he recorded 90 tackles — 51 solo and 39 assisted. He averaged 8.2 tackles per game and was recruited by North Dakota State.

He is 6-foot-0 and 155 pounds.

Kaiden Kimble-Turner – Safety

Turner is a 5-foot-10, 185-pound three-star recruit out of Idaho. He was listed as the fourth best out of the state.

In his senior year, he recorded 24 tackles, an interception, a sack and three pass-breakups. Playing offense, he scored five touchdowns.

Nevada, New Mexico, Army, Idaho and Eastern Washington expressed interest in Kimble-Turner.

Steven Perez – Linebacker

A three-star recruit, Perez is 6-foot-1 and 205 pounds. Perez recorded 107 tackles (10.7 per game) and six for a loss his senior year.

He rushed for 769 yards with 12 touchdowns this past season and has 96 receptions over his entire career.

Mason Drube – Quarter Back

Drube is the first QB on the signing list and the second out of Wyoming, as he is from Gillette. He is 6-foot-3 and 205 pounds.

He is the top recruit in Wyoming and the 52nd best out of all QB recruits in the country.

In his senior year, he passed for 2,434 yards and completed 60% of his passes. He threw 23 touchdowns this past year as well.

Like his father, tight end Kirby Drube, who played four seasons in Laramie in the ’90s, Mason is signing with the Cowboys. However, he was also recruited by Michigan State, Boston College, Washington State, Utah State and more.
