FORT COLLINS, Colo. — For the second time this year, the Colorado State University Rams thoroughly beat the Wyoming Cowboys on the court, this time south of the Wyoming–Colorado border. With this 88–53 loss, the Cowboys sink to 11–15 overall.

Today’s contest was Colorado State’s to claim from nearly the beginning, especially given how Wyoming was shooting from the jump. The Cowboys would go 1–11 from the field — a .377 field goal percentage — and .353 from 3-point range.

The Rams, on the other hand, were shooting at a healthy .607 from the field and .583 from 3-point land. According to UW Athletics, the Rams successfully drained 14 threes through the whole contest. The first 9 points of the game between both teams were from three 3s courtesy of the Rams. That 9–0 run would certainly foreshadow bad things for the Pokes for the rest of the night.

A three from star guard Obi Agbim was what would stop the bleeding, but CSU would go on an 18–3 run before the Pokes could rack up any more points.

Agbim, per the usual, led the way with scoring alongside senior guard Dontaie Allen. They would both rack up 15 points, which is more than half of the Pokes’ total points from today. They had six and five made field goals, respectively.

Matija Belic and Jordan Nesbitt would follow with 7 points each. Nesbitt, who is usually a reliable rebounder, recorded just three today.

The Pokes would successfully make seven shots total before the half. That would put the half-time score at 44–19 and firmly in the Rams’ favor.

The Cowboys would look their best coming right after the half, going on a few short runs and keeping pace with the Rams to make it a 46–29 game after four minutes. However, something woke up in the Rams and five consecutive 3-pointers would bury what morale the Pokes had left. The Cowboys would rack up 14 more points through the rest of the half, and the final box score would be 88–53.

Scoring exactly 44 points in each half, the Rams scored almost more points in each half than the Cowboys did in the entire game — a difference of only 9 points.

The Cowboys will return to the Arena-Auditorium on Tuesday for what should hopefully be a layup win against the Mountain West Conference bottom-dweller Air Force Academy. The Falcons are currently 0–14 in conference play and 3–22 overall. Tip-off is 6:30 p.m. Mountain Time.
