I-80 between Laramie and Rawlins to stay closed until at least early morning

I-80 between Laramie and Rawlins is closed due to weather conditions and crashes.

That stretch of the interstate will remain closed until at least the early morning hours of Saturday, Jan. 18.

The Wyoming Department of Transportation said that as of 2 pm Friday, the estimated opening time was between 14-16 hours.

The closures went into effect Friday morning with a crashed reported at milepost 272 near Arlington.

US 30 between Rawlins and Medicine Bow is also closed due to crashes and winter conditions. US 287 between Laramie and Medicine Bow is closed due to winter conditions.

These roads have similar estimated opening times as the interstate.

WYDOT has removed Level 1 Chain Law restrictions on a portion of I-80 near Evanston.

Black ice advisories are in place for other highways throughout the state, particularly highways in the Jackson and Pinedale areas.

Level 1 Chain Law and weight restrictions are in effect on WY 22 across Teton Pass between Wilson and the Idaho state line.

That stretch is also closed to all trailer traffic.

Weight restrictions are in place on a number of other highways as well.
