NWS: Storm to bring ice, wind and snow to Cheyenne area

John Roedel, Cap City News

Travel around Cheyenne is expected to become difficult Monday morning as a winter storm makes its way through the state.

Roads around Natrona County, including I-25, closed early this morning due to winter conditions.

The National Weather Service in Cheyenne reports ice accumulations along I-80 between Cheyenne and Laramie, along with low visibility from freezing drizzle and fog.

Freezing drizzle is expected to give way to moderate to heavy snow and gusty winds later today, with a high temperature of just 19 degrees and minus 1 overnight.

A winter storm warning is in effect through Tuesday night, according to the NWS.
