CASPER, Wyo. – Traffic is finally moving along I-80 on Monday afternoon after full and rolling closures stranded travelers for days.
Closures started on Friday as high winds caused blowing and drifting snow, as well as icy road conditions.
WYDOT said on social media they closed parts of I-80 on Sunday overnight due to the unavailability of hotel rooms and parking for long haul trucks.
Roads opened early this afternoon, according to WYDOT.
Most weather and travel warnings along southern Wyoming have been lifted as of 3:30 p.m., but there is a chance for more snow in the area starting tonight, according to the National Weather Service in Cheyenne. Winds however are expected to remain calm.
