The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning for the Cheyenne area through this evening.
According to the NWS, wind gusts up to 60 mph are expected for the East Platte and central Laramie Counties, including Cheyenne and portions of I-80 and I-25. Some portions of the counties could see gusts as high as 70 mph.
Drivers should expect dangerous travel for lightweight and high profile vehicles. Heavy winds could also carry loose debris and potentially damage property, said the NWS.
The high temperature in Cheyenne is expected to reach 33 degrees today, with a low of 14 degrees overnight. Cold weather and possible snow is expected on Tuesday, with a high of 23 degrees and low of just 9 degrees overnight, according to the NWS.
