NWS: Gusts up to 60 mph likely today in southern Wyo

The National Weather Service in Cheyenne is urging caution today as strong, gusty winds are predicted along Wyoming’s Interstate roads today.

Strong crosswinds with gusts up to 60 mph are likely in the Bordeaux area along Interstate 25, and near Arlington on Interstate 80 through this evening.

Interstate 80 is closed to light and high profile vehicles as of 5:45 a.m. between Elk Mountain and Laramie, according to WYDOT.

The Cheyenne area should expect wind gusts over 30 mph with chill values down to minus 5 degrees, according to the NWS.
