CHEYENNE, Wyo. – The National Weather Service in Cheyenne is anticipating that record high temperatures for the area could be reached over the weekend.
“Quiet and pleasant weather is expected today through Saturday night across southeast Wyoming and western Nebraska. All models show a high amplitude upper level ridge axis lifting north towards the United State/Canada border while slowly translating east this weekend. This will result in some near record highs today, with record highs likely on Saturday. Afternoon temperatures should be in the mid 60s to mid 70s Saturday afternoon along/east of the Interstate 25 corridor,” the NWS said in their forecast discussion.
The weather service went on to say that no weather related impacts are expected through Saturday night.
According to the weather report, Cheyenne is expected to experience sunny skies, calm winds and temperature in the mid 60’s through Sunday.
The NWS says that a chance for rain showers on Sunday is possible.
