After a hot July, the first week in August is heating up as well

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Cheyenne is heading into a hot first week of August after having high temperatures through July.

The National Weather Service in Cheyenne listed the average temperatures for the month of July at a high of 87.8 and a low of 59. The hottest day of the month was July 18, which had a high of 99.

That 99-degree high could be matched or exceeded in the city this week.

Today, Aug. 3, is looking to have a high of 92, with a low of 55 this evening. The temperature is set to be higher on Thursday, Aug. 4, and Friday, Aug. 5. Thursday’s high is set to be around 104 with a low in the evening of 62. Friday will return to a high of 102 before cooling off in the evening with a low of 55.

The humidity is set to rise throughout the week, with the weekend moisture possibly bringing thunderstorms.
