CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The National Weather Service in Cheyenne is warning of another hot day today with a weekend full of storms.
Meteorologists say scattered to numerous afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms are forecast Saturday through Monday. Locally heavy rain may cause minor flooding, especially in and near the burn scars. The threat for severe weather is low.
Today’s temperatures are forecast to be near 89 degrees, with a 20% chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Tonight there is a 30% chance of thunderstorms between 9 p.m. and midnight, with a low of 60.
Saturday, Aug. 13 has a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon, with the rest of the day being mostly sunny accompanied by a high of 88. The evening also has a chance of showers and thunderstorms at 30%, with the low for the night being around 60.
Sunday, Aug. 14 has a predicted high of 86, with a 70% chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. The chance of evening precipitation remains at 70%, with thunderstorms and rain likely through the night. The low for that evening is forecast at 57.
