CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Enjoy today’s temps in the mid-80s, because hotter weather is on the way for Cheyenne.

The National Weather Service in Cheyenne is forecasting a bright and sunny Saturday with a high near 86. Winds will come from the south-southeast at 10–15 mph. Clear skies will prevail into the overnight period as the low drops to around 53.

Sunday will see the mercury rise to around 94 degrees and is forecast as the hottest day of the Labor Day weekend. Winds will come from the west at 5–15 mph, according to the forecast.

“‘Big bubble, no trouble’ will be the continuing trend for the extended forecast,” meteorologists wrote in the forecast discussion. “A big bubble of upper-level high pressure will sit over the western half of the [Continental United States] through most of next week.”

Labor Day and Tuesday will see similar highs of about 92 degrees under clear and sunny skies. There may be a break Wednesday, but only to a high of 88 degrees. Thursday is again expected to break 90 degrees before a cool front makes its way through the state and introduces the area’s first chance for precipitation this month.

Overnight lows each night range from 55 to 58 degrees, according to the forecast.

More on the forecast is available from the National Weather Service.
