Quiet Cheyenne forecast calls for above-normal highs, breezy conditions

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Despite some windy conditions in the forecast, Cheyenne will see warm temperatures and relatively quiet weather through the rest of the week.

The National Weather Service in Cheyenne has forecast a high of 63 degrees today. Skies will be mostly cloudy through mid-morning before becoming gradually clear. Breezy conditions are expected with a west wind of 15–20 mph and gusts as high as 30 mph. Tonight’s skies will be mostly clear with a low near 35.


Wednesday will see partly sunny skies as the mercury returns to 59. Winds will continue from the south-southwest at 10–15 mph. Partly cloudy skies are forecast for Wednesday night, alongside a low near 36. West winds will blow at 10–15 mph.

A slightly more active weather pattern will begin to creep into the long-term forecast with the potential for high wind and light mountain snow. That will be followed by another system with “considerable uncertainty” around Sunday and Monday, meteorologists wrote in the forecast discussion.

Thursday will be mostly sunny with a high near 55. West winds will pick up to 20–25 mph with gusts as high as 35 mph. Thursday night will be mostly clear, and the low will be near 24.

The Friday forecast calls for a high near 59. Breezy conditions are expected to continue. Friday night will be mostly clear, and the low will be near 28.

The weekend forecast is spotted with a chance for rain, mostly after 11 p.m. Saturday night. Saturday will be mostly sunny with a high near 58. Overnight, skies will be mostly cloudy and the low will fall to around 31.

Sunday will see a continued chance for rain with partly sunny skies and a high near 54. A chance for rain and snow is possible Sunday night under mostly cloudy skies. Blustery conditions are expected. The low will be near 26.
