Spike in warm weather Wednesday to drop off late week

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Warm weather Wednesday is likely to melt any remaining snow Cheyenne is holding onto. However, snow showers and frigid temperatures are expected to return Friday.

The National Weather Service in Cheyenne states mild temperatures and sunny skies will continue on Wednesday and Thursday before dropping off into the low 30s on Friday.

Wednesday’s high will be 63 degrees, while Thursday will be slightly colder at 56. High wind watches and warnings will also go into effect at 11 p.m. Wednesday and last until 11 p.m. Thursday throughout the Laramie Valley as well as Platte County, according to the NWS in Cheyenne area forecast discussion. Winds could gust as high as 50 mph.

Snow showers are likely after 11 a.m. Friday. Skies will be mostly cloudy.
