Friday to have chance of snow showers overnight; high winds throughout weekend

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Southeast Wyoming is back to its usual frigid fall weather, with a chance of snow showers for good measure.

The National Weather Service in Cheyenne says sunny skies will stay throughout southeast Wyoming for days to come. However, Friday has a 30% chance of snow showers between 5 and 7 p.m.

Friday’s high will be 36 degrees, a noticeable drop from Wednesday’s and Thursday’s mild temperatures. Overnight winds will blow around 10–20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. The low will be 15 degrees.

Saturday will be slightly colder, with a high of 32 degrees. A high wind watch will be in effect in wind-prone areas in southeast Wyoming from Saturday night to Sunday night. High winds will continue and blow at around 15–20 mph. Windchills will be between zero and 10 degrees. Clouds will increase overnight, accompanying a low of 16 degrees.

Sunday’s temperatures will rise to 41 degrees. Winds will pick up again and bluster at between 30 and 35 mph. The overnight low will be 23 degrees.
