CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Cheyenne residents may see some winter weather as they kick off the coming week. Before that, though, they’ll need to contend with some strong Sunday winds.
The National Weather Service in Cheyenne has declared a high wind warning in the Cheyenne area, lasting until 6 p.m. Sunday evening. Throughout the day, west-northwest winds will reach 30–35 mph, with gusts getting as strong as 55 mph.
During the day, temperatures are expected to reach a high of around 45 degrees, though the persistent winds are likely to make conditions feel colder.
At night, temps will fall to a low of 28 degrees, the NWS in Cheyenne reports. Winds will die down somewhat while remaining strong, as gusts of up to 35 mph are likely to remain possible.
Then, Monday starts the coming week in wintry style. The NWS in Cheyenne forecast projects a 30% chance of snow beginning at around 11 a.m., dying down as the day warms up. Then, at night, a 50% likelihood of snow returns. That chance will only grow in the coming day, with the weather service forecast including a 60% chance of snow on Tuesday.
