CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Cheyenne residents should see a gradual shift in weather conditions today, following a period of windy winter weather.
The National Weather Service in Cheyenne reports a tapering off of snow showers and anticipates a warming trend toward the weekend.
NWS in Cheyenne Lead Forecaster Matthew Brothers highlights the ongoing improvements.
“Winds have been decreasing for much of the night across the I-80 corridor from Laramie through Sidney,” Brothers states.
Key weather updates include:
- Winter conditions are slowly improving, but localized impacts continue through mid-morning Wednesday. This includes blowing snow near the Cheyenne Ridge and additional light snowfall along the Pine Ridge.
- A trend toward warmer and drier conditions is expected through late this week.

Today: Early patchy blowing snow, followed by sunny skies and a high temperature near 36 degrees. Expect breezy conditions, with northwest winds gusting at up to 30 mph.
Tonight: Mostly clear with a low of around 16 degrees. Winds will come from the northwest at 10–15 mph.
Thursday: Sunny weather with a high near 42 degrees. Northwest winds will be blowing at about 10–15 mph.
Thursday night: Mostly clear with a low near 19 degrees. Winds will come from the west-northwest at 5–10 mph.
Friday: Sunny with a high near 47 degrees. Northwest winds will persist at 5–10 mph.
