New Year hand-off comes with warm temps, sunny skies in Cheyenne

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — With high pressure in place, dry and tranquil weather is prevailing in Laramie County.

The National Weather Service in Cheyenne says daytime temps today will be 10 to 15 degrees cooler than Saturday as a back-door cold front drifts across the area, but it won’t be enough to drop today’s high from the 40s.

Skies will be mostly cloudy for New Year’s Eve. The forecast high is 41 and there’ll be a south breeze of 5–10 mph.

Tonight will see partly cloudy skies and a low near 22.

The New Year’s Day forecast calls for a high of 48 in Cheyenne. Skies will be mostly sunny and winds will have shifted to come from the west at 5–10 mph. Overnight, there’ll be some clouds in the sky. The low will fall to around 19.

Sunny skies and highs in the 40s are forecast for the rest of the week. Tuesday will see a high near 41, while Wednesday will see a high of 40 and Thursday 42. Skies will be mostly clear overnight each night with lows in the high teens.
