CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Cheyenne residents can expect pleasant weather today featuring mostly sunny skies and highs slightly above normal. The National Weather Service in Cheyenne notes that while winds will generally be light, occasional gusts could reach 25 mph.
The forecast for the next few days promises mostly clear skies Tuesday and Wednesday, with a shift on Thursday to mostly cloudy conditions and a possible chance of snow south of the Rawlins to Scottsbluff line. The weather is expected to clear up on Friday, followed by mostly cloudy and windy conditions on Saturday with potential snow west of I-25. High temperatures will primarily be in the 30s and 40s.
“Quiet weather expected through the middle of this week,” NWS Lead Forecaster Timothy Trudel predicts.
“Expect today to begin a slow cooling trend which will last through the end of the week,” Trudel states, indicating highs today in the upper 30s to mid-40s, with clearing skies by the afternoon.
Looking ahead to the weekend, NWS Meteorologist Mike Natoli forecasts a more active weather pattern.
“Several shortwaves traversing across the southwest US will bring periodic chances for precipitation,” Natoli states. This change in weather is expected to bring an end to the recent mild conditions, with temperatures dropping significantly by Thursday.
