Warmer weather on horizon for Cheyenne

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Despite the winter weather the area has seen in recent days, the National Weather Service in Cheyenne is predicting that the coming weekend will be the start of some warmer temperatures for the capital city.

Today will feature clear, sunny skies and temperatures that reach a high of roughly 33 degrees. Moderate winds of 5–10 mph are expected throughout the day.

Skies will remain clear into the night, with a low of about 11 degrees after sundown.

Sunday will be even warmer, with a high near 46 degrees. The NWS in Cheyenne reports the day will feature west and southwest winds of 5–10 mph, increasing to 10–15 mph in the afternoon.

The winds will grow stronger into the evening, with gusts stronger than 40 mph possible near sundown.

At night, temperatures will fall to a low of about 30 as clouds begin to roll in.
